This movie stands out in my mind as being one of the few films to ever depict the other side of romance. The side that doesn't end up happily ever after. Damn near every rom-com out there tells the same story at its core. Boy meets Girl or vice versa and yada yada everything ends up roses. Those of us who have played the game of love can tell you that though hopefully this does happen some day ...you have to kiss a lot of frogs on the way there. Suffice to say this is a movie about a frog kiss. Joseph Gorden Levitt is one of my favorite actors around. His screen presence permeates an authenticity that only serves to make the over all piece that much more real. He is coupled here with the lovely Zooey Deschanel who seems to so real in this role as to fool me into thinking she wasn't even acting..this is who she is.
