*note: to me this movie is called Star Wars...not episode IV or Star Wars Episode IV A New Hope...just Star Wars. Its also the first in a series of six films....not the fourth regardless of what you want to call it. 

It is utterly impossible for me to watch Star Wars and not be reminded of what it was like to be young and in love with this film. Unfortunately there a too few films that have this much of a since of adventure...pure fun adventure. Its astonishing how the film manages to be so simple without feeling generic or overtly"family friendly". True it's rooted in iconic archetypes that seem universal....though if they were universal explain to me why this film still seems so damn unique. I mean seriously as far as fantasy films go there just aren't that many where fun is a higher priority to epic. Where adventure is more important that bloated melodrama.
