Triangle

2-5-10

You know how sometimes people describe something as "jaw dropping"? For whatever reason what they are seeing causes their mouth to go agape. Well Triangle had several moments like that for me. Moments that were so unusual or just down right macabre I was utterly taken aback. I can honestly say there are things presented here that I've never seen before. For this reason alone this film is of note. Fortunately there are many other reasons why I enjoyed Triangle a great deal. First off it has to be one of the most gorgeous films I've seen recently. The shot composition and lighting are second to none. Melissa George is fantastic here and her performance is even more admirable when one considers how much of the film is dependent on this one character. Finally I want to talk about one big thing the film is missing...extraneous exposition. Most films of this type have volumes of exposition spoon fed to the audience in order to explained the super natural/sci-fi phenomenon on display. There is none of that here and thank goodness as it makes the proceedings much mroe mysterious and ultimately more satisfying.
